WE ARE HONEYSUCKLE HOLLOW FARM

HOW IT BEGAN

From the beginning, our family has been one with the land.

From our native ancestors who showed the utmost respect to Mother Nature and her greatness, to my paternal Grandmother, Emma B. Miller, who out of necessity, learned the art of gardening to feed her children and survive in the Deep South, tending to the earth has been a key pillar for our family.

Emma, affectionately known as Madear, had a relationship with the land rooted in a deep cutting and painful history, but with an unwavering faith in God and 103 years on this earth, she passed on a love of the land, and its magic, for generations to come.

Bri Miller, Emma B. Miller’s youngest grandchild, officially established Honeysuckle Hollow Farm in 2023 in Alexandria,Virginia to carry on the Miller family’s tradition of land stewardship.

In 2024, Bri moved the farm to two acres in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and expanded the farm.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to teach, empower and inspire our community to be stewards of our earth.

We aim to create a welcoming environment where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can come together and experience the joys of gardening.

Through hands-on education and practical knowledge in a supportive community setting we strive to encourage healthy living, sustainable practices, and a deep connection with the natural world and our neighbors.

Our programs and workshops aim to empower individuals with the skills and confidence to grow their own food and cultivate a lifelong love of gardening. We believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, locally-grown produce, and we are committed to promoting food security and self-sufficiency within our community.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to preserving the traditions of our family and support you in creating your own, all while adapting to meet the needs of a changing world.

We are dedicated to using environmentally-friendly practices, promoting biodiversity, and honoring the land that sustains us.

We believe that by sharing our knowledge, passion, and love of gardening with others, we can create a healthier, more connected, and more sustainable future for ourselves and our planet.
